Agreement

Do you think Asher will be this excited 30 years in the future when we remind him of the agreement?  I'm pretty sure this is legally binding.

Water Fun

One of the first times our children have truly enjoyed each others company.

Imagination Explosion

It's like I woke up and no longer live with a little baby boy... but a walking, running, talking, humming, singing, dancing, silly and sweet little boy.  It becomes apparent when you spend more than a half hour taking:

-puppy for a walk in stroller constructed from an Easter basket and walker.
-while walking, stop at your house made of mega blocks for lunch.
-serve up a complete lunch with milk.
-take puppy to the playground (aka the rocking chair) to swing.

What a fun age!  At this point I couldn't think of any other way I'd rather spend my Saturday morning.

Mommy's Car

We're driving home today:

Me - "Do you like Daddy's truck or Mommy's car?"
Asher - "Mommy's car."
Me - "Why do you like Mommy's car?"
Asher - "Mommy's car is happy!"
Me - "Yay!  That's good!"
Asher - "Mommy's car makes pancakes!"

Very inspired and wishful thinking by my boy...

Breaktime

He was playing so hard at basketball last night he laid down with his puppy and said, "Asher take a break"

T-Ball

I asked Asher what his favorite part of the day was and it was definitely the t-ball.  l would have to agree! Nice work Ev!!

Profound Dinner Conversation

Asher sits next to me at dinner these days.  Near the end he reached over, hugged my arm and smiled up at me.

I say, "What's up?"
He says, "Da Da Daaaaaaah....(in a sing songy voice and then points up) THE CEILING!"

Making the Big Bucks

Asher and Daddy visited me at work today for lunch and at one point in time early on in their visit Daddy said, "This is where Mommy makes the big bucks."  We had lunch, I showed them around and they met all my coworkers and then when it was time to leave I said, "Mommy has to go back to work now."  Asher looked at me in a serious way and nodded, "Mommy go to work to make the big bucks." and then gave me a kiss.  I like to think he was proud of me.

Lesson on drop kicking

As most of you know Asher is very into balls.  Most of our evenings are spent drop kicking soccer balls, footballs, baseball's and balloons.  I never thought I would have this conversation with my son though.

Asher: DROP KICK baby! (Proceeds to drop kick baby toy)

Me:  Asher we don't drop kick our babies...

Asher:  Cuddle babies. (Picks up baby toy and hugs it) 

It was a pretty easy lesson and then he wanted me to take a picture of him with his friends.

Rainy Day

It may have rained all afternoon but we were still outside for most of it. During the worst of it we sat on the stairs and watch the rain fall. To pass the time we sang the itsy bitsy spider together, talked about the rain and thunder and took some silly face selfies. :-)

Dance Moves

This is proof that Asher is my son and that dance moves are genetic.  I'll let you decide whether the dance moves are good or not.

Ice Cream, Part II

The first trip to Dairy Queen of the season!  Asher needs to get his own ice cream these days.

We All Scream for Ice Cream

Asher had a beef tamale and peas for dinner tonight.  He had just cleared his plate for the THIRD helping.  He looks down at it, looks at me and signs "More" while saying...

Asher: "More tamale"
Me: "Oh no!  You ate all of the tamale and peas, what should we have now?" 

(I look at Casey to start figuring out what we could easily put together.)

(Asher looks down into his lap still signing more with a thoughtful scrunched up look on his face, then his face whips up with a gigantic smile on his face)

Asher: "Ice Cream!"

So funny enough I end up pulling out the Ice Cream and "Fanfare for the Common Man" comes on the radio...how fitting for such a momentous occasion at our house.

Buckle up...It's the law

Teddy's safety comes first before we leave for breakfast...he also needed a coat but we had to say he would be just fine without.

Wagon Rides

Wagon Rides are a regular (and very exciting) occurrence at our house these days.  Yay for Spring!

Rockets

Asher finished a rocket puzzle and brought it over to me to see...

Me: oh wow a rocket!

Asher: rocket!

Me: rockets fly and go whoosh! 

(I take puzzle, demonstrate it flying and hand puzzle back to him.)

Me:  what does the rocket do?

Asher: poop

(He walks away)

Supper Time

Thankfully real supper time is never like this.

Giddy-up Bedtime

Things got a bit silly at bedtime singing and dancing- so naturally he would want to wear his cowboy hat to bed too.

Just Like Daddy

We played with all of the board games yesterday and one of his favorites was Monopoly.  Casey told me once that he used to play himself in Monopoly as a kid.  Looks like Asher is getting a headstart.  One more way he takes after Daddy :)

I Spy a Daddy at the NYSE!

While we were here singing songs, dancing with streamers, climbing forts, building towers, scooping bubbles and learning to count...Daddy was opening the NYSE. (Click on the link to see the video.)

The person in front of him forgot to duck so we could see him.  However, I did't need to see his entire face to recognize him :)  For those of you unwilling to watch the video, here's a picture.

Sweatin' to the '10s

We got our workout tonight with a family dance party to "What does the fox say?"...Or if your Asher it's the "Kaw Kaw" song.  (Which is also incidentally his word for fox...hmm wonder how that happened :) )   This little clip is round two.

Lullaby for Baby

Asher staged all of this himself.  Tucked baby in, pulled xylophone in to his fort, gave baby a kiss and started playing.

Caught Red Handed

Errrr...I mean blue mouthed.  I look away for one second to draw a horse and this is what I get, a "Who me???" look and blue mouth.

Night Night

We spent part of the morning playing "nigh nigh".  He gets his baby, lays her on a blanket, I wrap her up and then he sits and sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, gives her a kiss good night on the forehead, and lays down to go night night too.  Here he got extra creative and decided everyone was going to pretend to go to sleep in his bed instead of the living room.

Hide and Seek

Big game in town right now is hide and seek.  This is his "I'm hiding and I'm about to jump out and surprise you" face.
